Learning route 2
Students in Route 2 are divided into three outflow profiles.
Each outflow profile has its own learning line. Each learning line contains:
- Outline of the curriculum and class schedule
- Didactic approach
- Examples, features and insights into lessons
- Targets NT2 (levels ERK/CEF).
Outflow mbo entree
Students are prepared for entry into the Entrée program in the mbo. This is barrier-free and lasts one year. The school must be a safe place for these students where they can develop their talents. In this environment, students should have a clear, realistic goal to work towards that will give them a view of their future. The educational program in this route consists of two phases:
- In the first phase much NT2 is linked to practical and recognizable content, allowing easy transfer to situations outside school.
- In the second phase NT2, among other things linked to the practical situations the pupil is going to graduate to, e.g. learn how to conduct a job interview for an internship, how to ask for help. Learners are guided to a real career choice with a concrete perspective. It is important to let them experience the possibilities in practical situations.

occurs to situations inside and outside the school. Attention to math and life in the Netherlands (man & society). - In the second phase, in addition to continuing NT2, ample attention is paid to orientation to various courses and professions as well as the practical situations the student will encounter in the MBO.
Outflow vmbo basic
The emphasis is on entry into the junior vmbo basic vocational program. In some cases, students enter in the upper grades. The students have often had some prior education in the mother country, but need support in developing their school skills and independent learning. The starting point for these students is graduation from secondary school. The school provides a safe place, where there is plenty of room for small success experiences and where they can develop their talents. The educational program consists of two phases:
- In the first phase much NT2 linked to practical and recognizable content, allowing easy transfer
occurs to situations inside and outside the school. Attention to math and life in the Netherlands (man & society). - In the second phase NT2, among other things linked to the practical situations to which the student will go, e.g. reading text from a textbook or answering questions. Attention to avo-subjects (when entering in the lower phase), such as biology and man & society (or geography and history). Attention to vocationally oriented profile (when entering the upper grades), such as practical sector orientation, care and technology, and an internship. Where possible, organize a form of 'partial switching', where students already follow one or more subjects at vmbo (e.g. during a trimester or structurally).
